Hooktube is just a shell for youtube. Back in the day it would obfuscate your location data. Started to get too popular and YT shut them down. shut down in September, but has a variety of clones (which you can se by clicking that link). So you can download invidious videos directly without any software, but you're still uploading to YT. Understand?
Doesn't mean that you can't use hooktube, just wanted to let you know that it didn't function in the way that justified it's use previously.
