MFW the NRA has been in NY for all this time. They're so renown for being in DC (and just outside of it) that even American Everyman hero Hank Hill thought that they were based in DC.
NY has been anti-gun for decades...which says something about the NRA's effectiveness.
Their HQ is in Virginia.
They were effective, just not as effective as (((they))) wanted you to think they were. Any money the NRA spent was pennies compared to the amount that (((Soros))) and Bumbleberg could spend. Now tho, I think the NRA has lost a lot of their teeth & it will be some time before they grow back, if at all.
The NRA is considered "the world's oldest gun control organization" for good reason as they have approved of most every major infringement of the 2A.
Some of the apologists for them have good points, examples being that their membership base is largely Fudds, they are supported by the firearms companies (who, ironically, have been bigly anti-2A) and that the NRA did not become a 2A advocacy group until after LBJ passed the GCA.
Sadly, those good points can only excuse the NRA's ineffectiveness and, particularly prior to the 1970s, counter-effectiveness at preserving the 2A.
Though no apologist has, to my knowledge, been able to come up with a defense for Wayne LaPierre. Frankly I believe we'd see more progress if The Nuge were appointed bossman of the outfit, though if nothing else The Nuge would not need to use NRA money to fund a lavish lifestyle.
I know they have a pretty spotty track record and not always "been with us". I'm well aware of the slogan of Not Really Advocates that is now associated with them. For a while there it seemed like the ship was going in the right direction and even became a force we could depend on. They turned out to be a paper tiger tho. Once the light was shined on the likes of LaPierre and Marion Hammer did EVERYONE finally get a good look at them. Those 2, and a few others, need to go &their replacements will have a hard job of winning people back. I know I don't plan on renewing my membership once it's up in a year or so.
Uncle Ted is my president!
Speaking of the Tribe, I saw that (((they))) are apparently kicking their paranoia into overdrive because they believe that Wayne LaPierre named them as the enemies of the 2A.
While I have never heard much good about LaPierre, now I'm wondering if the accusations against him are (((slander))) and that he might be more decent than we've been led to believe?
Oddly enough, that site is also running a massive textwall of an article that distills down to the Jews taking a victory lap for hiding their nuke plant right under the, ahem, noses of JFK and LBJ.
