Anyone familiar with these? I’ve inherited one that has been cut down, or “sporterized”. It hasn’t been used in many years. My wife’s grandmother (89 and since passed) said it was her Dad's when she was a little girl. That would put it at being WW1 surplus purchase. I don’t know if he did the cutdown or what. It seems to be ok, but I’m taking it in to my guy for the once over. They have a test tank and also carry the ammo.

Have any input?

It’s def a keeper, but I’m not into reloading at all. I have no experience in that realm. I’ll be relegated to finding ammo for it. Maybe some surplus will turn up.

You could definitely learn to reload. That cartridge fairly common but unfortunately all the older stuff is being bought up quickly since it is harder to find than say 9mm

In other news, I just picked up 2k rds of 8mm Mauser @ .20 per rd. Old dirty Berdan primer stuff, but, whatever.

I stocked up on 8mm Mauser back in 2008 or so when you could get the spam cans of the Romanian stuff for $60.
