Wish I could say they were mine. I love lever actions. Henry's seem to be the best nowadays, still USA made with good quality. Their new x mods allow loading from the tube or a gate, pretty cool!

Marlin's aren't what they used to be, makes me very sad.

Yeah, remlin is the derogatory term. A 2010 one would likely be junk. The last few years theyve been quality firearms again. What happens next after the remington bankruptcy is yet to be seen. I own both old JM marlins and new-new remlins. Wouldnt touch a remlin from the old facility. Qc really improved the last few years. I still do a bit of hunting with a 336sc .30-30 mfgd in 1949, one of the first years of production, i believe 48 was the first. Has the ballard rifling. Called in and killed 2 bears with it in 2019 but its been a safe queen since then. Too many guns, not enough tags to use them all regularly. Killed 3 bears with a modern remlin .444 in 2020.

It really bummed me out when the Marlin buyout and quality crash happened. I grew up and did most of my hunting with a Marlin 1936 30-30. Lot of boar, lot of deer. Great accuracy, amazing iron sites and build quality.

I know the Henry's are nice now. The X's have side feet as well as the original front tube feed, I'm looking at those now. I guess Remington is owned by some European company (I forget which). Henry is still owned by themselves and is fully American.

It's my dream to go on a bear hunt some day. I'm still dreaming about an elk hunt too!

Well despite remington being shit for many years i think they turned over a new leaf in their marlin line. I believe ruger bought marlin with the remington bankruptcy. Hopefully theyll continue to improve on quality control and do more honor to the name than remington did

I'm going to have to look into this...

Ruger may have purchase Marlin? That would be a very positive turn of events.

I love Rugers. (The founder was a bit of a cunt, but the current company is awesome(from what I know))
