I’m for real here. Who has experience with this gun?

What do you know?

For the money Hi-Point is not bad. If that all you can afford, go for it . A cheap gun is better than no gun

I used to be pretty snobbish about these guns, but a buddy of mine has one and, after much cajoling, he convinced me to shoot it. Slowest slide recoil you can imagine, because the thing is made out of cast iron. Fixed barrel which is good. Mainly it's ugly as sin. Look it isn't pretty but when your booger hooks push the bang switch it goes boom... which really is 97% of what you want out of a gun in the first place.

Terrible cc because it's so bulky/heavy. Terrible to bring to a public range because everyone will laugh at you. But if you need a gun and your budget is looking under the couch cousins, go for it. From what I hear, though, you have to clean them after every box or the thing will start jamming. Not a huge deal as you should keep your guns clean anyway.

Possibly the best thing about it, other than the price, is that if you run out of ammo, you can use it as a club.

Little experience with Hi-Points, but I know some things:

They are reliable blowback bricks. They are only reliable after being truly broken in though, until then they will be unreliable.

They have a life-time warranty!

Another gun? Why not is my opinion on the matter!

Mine has been reliable from minute one. 600 rds downrange with no cleaning, no oil, no FTF, FTE, or stovepipes. I’m hoping to get through the 1000 rds I bought especially for this trial, without any hiccups. I have higher end guns that are more finicky. Oh yeah, and due to its weight, it’s pretty damn accurate as well.

Also you can pistol whip with it!

Cool to hear yours was reliable right off the bat!

Yeah, I’ve heard i was lucky. I will tell you though, the only irritating thing is the MAGA next, both it came with, don’t lock up well. After a bit of handling, it’s wiggles loose and has to be reseated. I carry it in my tank saddle bag on my Honda rancher quad in the back forty. The minimal bouncing around would likely mimic that of holster carry, if you wanted to carry a brick in that fashion.

Hi points are garbage.

Maybe in 15 years they'll be worth a shit. With good r&d

Or they'll just be collectible due to what freakish junk they are and finding one that still kind of works that far into the future will be amazing and rare.

Alternately, extrapolating from 2020 data, everyone might just be really really super retardedumb to the extreme degree that Hi=Points are the pinnace of excellence at that point due to DURP!

Do you own one? Because I do. I own a shit ton of guns, but I bought a c9 six years ago just because. For the record, I bought a case of rds, 1000, just for this gun. Like I said, I have many, so this is not my priority. I have put 600 rds of the 1k downrange without one hiccup. Not one failure to feed. Not one failure to eject, and no stove pipes. Also, during that time, no cleaning. No oiling. No shit. I bought the gun to see how much it could take with no maintenance. I’ll report back at 1000.

Hello-point!

I think it looks gross and I would feel gross carrying it.

I've heard it's better than it looks, though, for whatever that's worth.

Can’t carry. Too heavy.

It's cheap and it fires. Nothing more.

Well, for an everyday carry you want something cheap you won't cry about the cops holding for 6 months to forever if you have to shoot someone.
