The force of the BCG smacking the top of it at high speed will flatten it down/deform it pretty quick. I really don't know how they got it to run so good in the video, unless it's like the 10th attempt. If it was made out of something like a sawzall blade or a AK hammer spring (wound steel) it would be a different story.
