Founding Fathers: To make sure that future generations remember that the First Amendment only applies to Congress, we will literally start it off with "Congress shall make no law", and because the 2nd and 4th do not start that way, it will be obvious that they apply to all levels of government.
Future Generations: 2A only applies to states if they copy-paste it in their Constitution verbatim, and applies to the federal government in absolutely no way.
How did we go from Thomas Jefferson writing that the ideal form of exercise for Americans is taking long walks with your gun in hand to "zomg, guns are scary, ban them all...at least from White people"?
Universal suffrage.
Liberals tell me that Karl Marx wrote that the right to bear arms must always be maintained.
I don't know about that one, sounds like he left a little fake-out for his disciples to use to say "see, marxism isn't so bad", as no marxist ever in power has been pro-right to bear arms.
But I do know that Marx expressed that the way to advance his ideas was to get the women, particularly the ugly women, involved in the political process. On that he was 100% right. Woodrow Wilson might just be the most destructive and worst POTUS.
Karl Marx was right about the problems capitalism. He was wrong about the solution. The solution was socialism, not communism.
