Carrying a rifle across state lines is not a crime.

Carrying a rifle across state lines even as a minor is not a crime as long as he was legally in possession of the rifle in both his home state and the state he was in.

Carrying a rifle across state lines and using it for self defense is not a crime, even as a minor.

The only things that matters is weather use of force was justified for self defense.

Why is the angry mob so focused on inter-state transportation of a firearm? I am not a local to either of these states and I am not an expert on the local state laws but I know the federal laws quite well and I just don't see what they are salivating over. What is the angle they are working?

The left is focused on that (false) narrative in order to paint Rittenhouse as someone who was out looking to kill people.

Can you explain further? They are definitely trying to establish murderous intent and premeditation. I am am just not understanding how inter-state transportation of a firearm plays into this. Murderous intent and premeditation would not be effected by state lines, only that he brought a gun to a 'peaceful protest'. I feel like there is some specific legal pitfall they are trying to snare him with.

It's not that carrying the firearm across state lines (even though he didn't) is even illegal in WI, if you legally own it.
The entire point of the exercise is to paint Rittenhouse as someone who went to Kenosha with the intent to kill people. They're throwing as much clutter as they can in order to cloud the truth of the story.
