Firefighters I know definitely worry about it. Bullets definitely cook off and a typical ammo can doesn't prevent it.

I was more thinking how much worse it could be. Especially with a bunch of them. I mean a cardboard box vs tons of them in a metal can.

Rubber seal melts beforehand, lid might deform, but nothing dramatic in my opinion.

still alot getting hot at one time in a container. Hell maybe its safer that way I dont know. But always wondered.
