I've got an old Remington semi with a steel receiver. But I've always wanted a tactical shotgun, which I think is more practical for home defense.
A friend of mine asked me what gun I use for home defense and I told him that it depended on the room I'm in or the time of day. During the day I have a Glock 48 on my hip. At night there's a G43 on my nightstand and there's one in each bathroom. Not a shotgun in the house.
I've got a Glock 26 I keep handy in my bedroom. I also have a 30/30 model 94, Smith and Wesson 44 magnum, 12 gauge semi, and a 22 rifle that uses 22 shorts. Other than the Glock, the other ones are not practical for close quarter self defense. I keep hoping to hit the lottery, in which case i would own something one could only call an armory. Lol
I bought a whole bunch of 80% frame kits and saved them. Every now and then I will pull one out, finish it, then buy the parts to complete the gun. I have a pistol caliber carbine too (which is great for clearing a room - yes I practice in my house) but nothing really ling-range.
