I didn't see any date but I'd guess the ad is from about late 50's early 60's. I bought my 1st firearm at Montgomery Wards, i was 16. They had an open gun rack in the men's department. You just grabbed the gun you liked and brought it up the the service counter. It was a Ruger 10/22 that cost me a whopping $54.00.

$54 was a lot of money "back in the day". Minimum wage was $1/hr in 1959.

That was 1970... I was probably making $2/hr.
