As tempting as it is in some ways, I'm just not sure I can leave the US.
I think Eastern Europe would be more tempting for me. Chile doesn't look too bad, but I'd hate to declare the US "lost".

It's a hard mental hurdle (and I don't mean that in the sense that it must "be gotten over sooner or later"... just in the sense that when you're convinced it is so, you must therefore do many other things that sync with that decision... cannot straddle).
