"assaulting Russian police officers" Did that really happen though? What led up to that altercation? Where was he? What time was it? Was he intoxicated at the time? Is there video footage of this incident? If there were better reporting all my questions would have been answered but I have found that the more details are omitted the bigger of a lie it is.
