Impératif (Imperative) Présent (Present) dégage dégageons dégagez

https://francais.lingolia.com/en/grammar/verbs/imperatif

What is l’impératif? L’impératif (the imperative) is used to give orders or advice to one or more people. The imperative only exists in the second person singular (tu), the first person plural (nous) and the second person plural (vous). The imperative is conjugated in the same way as the present tense, but the subject pronouns are omitted.

Learn how to use the imperative in French with Lingolia’s quick and easy examples, then put your knowledge to the test in the free exercises.

merci. it's been a long time since exploratory french in junior high.

** ut. you didn't not use the actual word "fuck." now is not the time for manners. i wanted the literal "you all fuck off. we are full."

Problem is that there is no direct equivalent. "Fuck off" is built with "fuck", and "off". "Fuck" gets a different meaning depending on the context for a start, and "off" too, and there isn't a direct equivalent for the combination of "fuck" and "off". However "Go fuck yourselves. We're full" can literally be translated to "Allez vous faire foutre. On est plein". That's the closest equivalent I can think of to "fuck off" here.

  1. Va te faire foutre – fuck off (much stronger in French – a real insult, never to be used lightly)

this reminds me of growing up and asking my mom, who spoke 5 languages, how to say something in german or italian or french and she would always start with, "well, there really is no easy way to make this fit..." or some such. but i am remembering now why i went the spanish route. even though there are phrases in spanish that don't translate well, it is easier to more readily get the point across,

but thank you for your reply.
