Amazing but not surprising. The common theme of living free being hard work makes the cheering of some at the prospect of being relieved of the burden understandable though certainly not laudable. Add to that the companion theme that most who have power want more power and it makes perfect sense that any voice calling for calm, rational analysis of what the actual risks are from this virus will be shouted down as insensitive, callous, or ignorant.
