We seem to have a fascination for automating things that shouldn't be automated. Or maybe it's just over engineering.

I'd rather see walking up the escalators be the social norm. Walking up the escalators gets you to the next floor at a pace similar to running/jogging up the stairs.
Taking the escalator enables lazy fucks to be lazy and slow.
