Do airlines have a way to weigh after all have boarded by looking at an airplane internal weight scale of some sort? I once was on a plane after all boarded and a couple people were told to get off because there was too much weight on the plane. Embarrassing for those asked to get out if there was only someone estimating which people to get rid of to meet the weight limit.

I'm guessing there would be pressure sensors on the landing gears that could be used to get the plane's gross weight. Subtract tare, and you get the net weight of fuel, passengers and cargo.

I'm not an aviation expert or anything, but I believe they estimate the weight of the passengers. I believe there are standard tables of some sort.

I think they have the capability to weigh an aircraft by putting something like a scale under the landing gear, but I'm not sure that's used a lot.

They weigh luggage because total weight is critical. Passengers are just larger luggage when it comes to physics.

Plus emotional. Bags don't care if you weigh them.

An airline that lard barges will avoid... that sounds like a plus to me. We need more airlines like that.

I'd like to see a fat free airline system. There's no need for obese idiots on airplanes, that's a terroristic threat and danger to everyone if a giant pig is on the journey taking up 3 seats and blocking the emergency exit door.

There should be a test seat with arm rests. If you can't fit, you don't fly.

Yep your body weight should apply to your carry on.

Good. Your body weight should qualify as if you owe two fares or one. If you take up two seats with your blubber that's two fares.
