Yeah, you just have to be choosy about what you buy, and when. I have plenty of meat in the freezer that was last day of sale for a lot less than full price.

This. Usually twice a year I stuff a chest freezer full of some stuff and every week buy sale items and my super basic list. I eat better than most for very little by just not being dumb and knowing how to cook in am age where some people cannot even make toast.
