Getting married should be the biggest pain in the ass possible and starting out with a 1, 3 and then 5 year contracts (auto-renewing until death and or divorce with pre-nup restrictions). Pre-reqs to the 1st year contract should be almost like getting a green card, interviews and the like, and then they can get a first year marriage contract. After the first year, another set of interviews leading to a 3 year contract. Once past the 3 year (with four years of marriage now) it is reasonable to assume the marriage will be successful. The main thing is marriage can be ended at anytime. Also, the person ending the marriage (or requesting to end) is barred from marriage for at least X number of years. Just an idea but something like this needs to be implemented because too many kids are suffering and ending up getting screwed over by judges in family court.
