The nice thing about that kind of tech is that it works for everybody. And it's a lot easier to shoot some geek sitting in front of a computer out in a commo trailer than it is to gunfight with humans. The weakness is further back up the kill chain. The human infrastructure that makes the system work. Unless they're planning to put all of the zogbots, and their families, into FOB's surrounded by hescos and concertina for the rest of their lives, it won't work.

And as we saw in Afghanistan, no amount of tech is going to win against people who are perfectly willing to play the long game, hunker down and wait you out. The US military never lost a single engagement in 20 years. Not one. But in the end the us.gov still lost.

Because the people that give the orders lack the will. And frankly, the people running the tech just aren't that fucking bright.

Do you know that for about the first ten years of the use of surveillance drones in AFG, the down-signal was unencrypted? That anybody with an antenna and the web address could access the imagery in real-time?

Think about this: Local LE has been receiving armored vehicles like MRAP's from the us.gov for years now. But not one dime for upkeep, parts or maintenance. Do you know how much one tire costs for an MRAP? Now think about the departmental budget for your local LE. Think they can afford to keep that fucker running?
