If these human-whales didn't have enablers, they could not be this fat. They are not able to move around on their own, so they couldn't even walk to the refrigerator. The fat would be self-limiting to whatever weight stopped them from feeding themselves.
Correct. A lot of these people live off the disability of the fats as well as earning income as the caregiver. A paltry existence to be sure but obviously it's worth it to these people.
When the gov starves us out, these people will be the only survivors.
Doubt. They can't even metabolize their fat without freaking out about muh sugar levels. Their survival is contingent on dozens of meds propping them up.

Reality is that our society does not treat all addictions equally. A caregiver, probably state paid, should not be enabling any unhealthy conditions. and should be held personally responsible for failing to provide healthy care.
lets be real here. Other than howling, how can a land whale "rebel" against caregivers? It wouldn't be that difficult to remove the whale's access to food delivery and junk foods around the house.
Those whales lifting such a mass every day, their strength should be mighty.
