While this is the fat people hate sub and I know it important to make fun of the fatties, just remember that the Japanese government is heavily involved in the health choices of the people. Medical tyranny is still tyranny even if it is applied to something you agree with. It's not a far step from government health controls for weight to government mandates for the (((jab))). We are against giving the government control over our bodies for (((vaxxines))) but it wouldn't take much to get many to agree with the government controlling our eating an exercise by mandates to control obesity. It's a slippery slope so be careful with what you advocate for. Fatties gonna fat, but we shouldn't let that be the method by which we give up our bodily autonomy and rights in order to satisfy one small part of our sensibilities.
I don't disagree I wouldn't want mandetory medical in the west because there's no way to keep from turning it into a monster.
I'm first and foremost a pragmatist and we can't have it, but in an ideal world some common sense things like, "No, it's not okay to be obese, you're a drain on society," would be mandated. But I like to say I'm the only honest liar in the room, and I'm a maximum freedom guy only because I'm (or someone who would do things as would be ideal) aren't absolute dictator, so absolute personal freedom is the next best alternative.
All that said, Japan's attitudes about obesity are not just about their mandetory physicals. Japan (and much of east Asia) have absolutely no problem with telling fatties their fat and making fun of them for it, which is most of what the video is about.
