Actually happened to me on Mokulele airlines between the Big Island and Maui on several occasions back in 2014-2016. Had no problem with it cuz I'm not a fat fuck and I pack a light suitcase. I mean, what do you really need on the Islands? A pair of surf shorts and not much else lol. @madazzahat can likely confirm...?
