I was exactly at that point about a year ago. I tried soda water, zero cal drinks and such.

Tea + zero cal monkfruit based sweetener (there are other zero cal sweeteners other than monkfruit) helped me replace the zero cal drinks. I literally brew a huge pot and leave it on the kitchen counter. I cannot drink room temp water, but for some strange reason I can drink room temp tea. I don't fully understand it.

BUT, the most important part is being able to cook. You have to be able to cook all of the western mother sauces from which you can derive most of western cooking. You have to be able to cook meat in various forms. It also helps to know how to cook a basic stir fry (thinly sliced meat, properly velvetted/tenderized, super high cooking temperature), and teh basic asian sauces from china and india.

Finding a daily drink that you can drink all day long (zero cal) + super satisfying food is what evens out the hormone levels because your body will get all of the nutrients that it needs without the insulin spikes.

I agree. I can cook both meat and vegetables BBQ, pan fry, and convection. I can make sauces, and cook north Indian Punjab, Thai and hakka Chinese stir fry.
