I own and live on 230 acres tucked up in the mountains of the pnw. My nearest neighbor is 1 mile away. The closest tiny town of 200 is 9 miles away. The nearest city is 45 miles away . I'm alone hidden with only 1 cool neighbor 1 mile away. I am more prepared than 99.99% of the population. I will ride out anything outside of a nuclear war.
Pro tip to you : Plant native edible plants, Camas (purple, the white is poison), Jerusalem Artichokes etc etc....If the time comes that some hoard takes your stored preps away, you'll have plenty of forage available. That's what I'm doing on public land (I don't own 230 acres) in the city.
No one will take what's mine and I have caches stashed on my property and one other place a distance away.
I'm extremely secluded and I can completely hide the road that comes up to my property. The only people who would know I'm up here are a handful in the local area.
I was also a LRS in the Army and have plenty of combat experience. If things went bad and someone were to venture onto my property with bad intentions they would be dead before they got within 50 yards of my home.
Is your plan to hide out there your entire life? Even afterwards? OR are you an opportunist with DREAMS of taking over that city as your OWN kingdom some day? Or going down there and "stealing" a yacht (free) and going to sea? Or squatting in a penthouse condo eventually?
WHAT about the foreigner FLOOD (if not global egalitarian event of extinction due to being dumbasses).?
My plan is to keep to myself. Why would I want to be around a bunch of people? I moved out here to specifically avoid that. I will run some reconnaissance missions to observe the chaos.
That (besides retiring to sea as sailor) was the OTHER retirement dream I had. Only smaller. I wanted 30 (or 40) acres (roughly square) That I could build my house on and (wooded) if they built a 7/11 next door, I wouldn't know it.
Well carry on. Good to see SOME dreams come true. Have many bear friends out that way? They are REALLY good shoppers.
