Homeless Voater here. I spent a solid 10 minutes trying to subscribe before clicking my "view desktop version" toggle and seeing it. I may be missing it, but see no way to subscribe on the mobile version of this site. That might be a deterrent. Fuck fats.

There were plenty of threads and upvoted comments talking about Poal in the days leading up to the shut down. If people didn't find their way here, it's not for lack of knowledge about this place. You couldn't have been on Voat in those last few days and avoided this place being mentioned. It was basically between Poal, Notabug and Ruqqus. So the people who didn't make it to Poal probably fall into one of these categories:
(1) They weren't active on Voat near the end, and probably weren't going to be active again.
(2) They went to Ruqqus or Notabug and liked it better than here.
(3) They took Voat's shutdown as a sign to distance themselves from the internet, and they're refocusing their lives on other things.
There is also the possibility that many who were at Voat are here, but going by a different username and not participating at a level that they had been previously.

I think you're right on all counts. However, the massive falloff is what has me asking the question (from tens of thousands to less than 200). Of course, I might be too quick off the mark. Time will tell.

As far as my people they got scattered to the winds of the internet. Some so pissed about how voat went down turned very dark. I imagine they are on a chan type site by now. Or they said fuck it and left for good. Only a few have settled here. For me poal is a little buggy at moments. Poals seem ok for the most part. Always a niggerfaggot in a crowd.

I tried Ruqqus and Saidit, but I thought they were lacking and kind of dead/blah. Poal is by far the best alternative to Voat.
