At the beginning of the shift my nurse manager came into the conference room (where give/take report) to tell us a day shift nurse on our sister unit (another unit that does the same specialty) has passed. Everyone gasped and “oh no, she was so young”. I don’t know how old she was. I know she had a 2yo old. She looked like maybe in her thirties. But this whale was AT LEAST 300lbs. Is it really a surprise?
Edit: She died from a PE (pulmonary embolism). Commons cause of death for mega fats.
