I don't claim to be F1 fast, there's people who are a lot faster than I am, but it's eerily accurate. I lost a lot of time in the pits, I'm very slow on pit entry, I improved on the second stop. I wish I could try it on a real car, but I'm a broke mofo so I guess I'll never know. In the Assetto corsa game the tires work very similar to the real Pirelli compounds. Ultra soft is the C5, super soft is the C4, soft is the C3, medium is the C2, and hard is the C1. I don't know what Pirelli did this year to their tires but it's made the game match up with the way they behave in real life. Moot point now as Pirelli have made changes to the tire sidewall, we'll see if they go through with the changes, and if that affects things. Verstappen used C3 and C4 tires, I used C5 and two sets of C3 for my simulation as those are the tires available this week. I used the C5 out of curiosity. It requires high working pressure to keep the tire alive which means the C4 is probably faster overall as a race tire. Had I made the opening stint on C4's I would have carried consistent low 1:09's up to lap 20, which would have left me to do 2 25 lap stints on C3. My pace would have likely been much faster because I would be able to start my second stint in the 1:08's instead of mid to low 1:09's. It would have been easier to conserve fuel and likely wouldn't have had to compromise as much on the final 4 laps. I ran out of fuel at the end there at the start of sector 3 and coasted to the finish line.
