fusion—at a time when we’ve never needed a plentiful source of carbon-free energy more!

the world could be in for a futuristic era of widespread nuclear fusion energy

That's only until klaus Schwab starts mouthing off we have a crisis with too much fusion and starts mumbling about fusion credits.

The only reason there is a war on carbon is because the deplorables have no clue we live on a carbon based planet. Our own bodies are predominantly carbon. A war on carbon is a war on us.

If they could not use CO2, and laws restricting its production, to control people, they wouldn't care.

CO2 is most definitely not the control knob of the climate, it isn't even a minor factor, it's an effect (Henry's Law). Atmospheric CO2 increases with increases in the temperature of the Oceans (not just surface temp). Life, specifically shell forming life, has done much to strip out the once relatively abundant CO2 from the atmosphere and lock it up as Calcium Carbonate (Limestone) rocks.

As for fusion power. It's been 20 years away from commercial development for longer than I've been alive. It will most likely continue to remain 20 years from commercial development going forward.

No different than catastrophic climate change. We're always 10 years away from planet destruction. With communism, we're always just one purge away from utopia.
