Even at 30 cents, one solar panel costs $600 and will produce $200 worth of electricity per year. Over 25 years the panel produces $14,500 worth of power (assuming 8% inflation in price of electricity). No sane person would pass up an investment of $600 that would return $14,500 over 25 years.
