I think wind & solar work fine for small single unit homes, like a cabin in a remote location. Trying to upscale it to the suburbs or cities won't work because of demand. The only 2, maybe 3, clean power sources I can think of that work reliability are hydroelectric, natural gas, and big daddy Nuclear. And nuclear power is probably the best option.
