The polls showed that this election was VERY close up until the day before the election. "But polls can be wrong! Remember 2016?" Yes, and multiple pollsters in 2016 correctly called that election despite getting lambasted by the MSM. Fact is, it was close and he lost just barely. Bolsonaro was controversial even among some Brazilian conservatives. He was awesome in some ways (personal freedom) but terrible in others (corruption and overt cronyism).
