Even today when I walk through a store I’ll stop and take a look at the new transformers figures and admire them and appraise them mentally, but I just can’t be interested in the same things people here like this are interested in.

How i feel about life somedays... I swear something is right here, somedays idk tho

Same....so much has been killed for me.

I love scotch. Love it. The nuance, the care, the uniqueness of each one. The art that goes into making it.

I'd love to get into wine as well, as there is the same amount of nurturing required. However, the douchebags that have flocked to it have killed it for me....

There are more, but i'm working and rightfully have my thoughts there. At the end of teh day, though, seeing those things, seeing what these people are becoming makes me just want to retreat to the woods

I really don't understand that feeling. Is it that you are afraid that , presumably, strangers would lump you in with them?

Nah - more like dropping your favorite toy in a pile of shit. You can clean it off, but you'll always remember it covered in shit....that it smelled like shit, that you got shit on your hands while cleaning it off.

Wine tasting may have been fun, but now you have to go support a bunch of known leftists with their tranny and homo flags flying, surrounded by a bunch of douche bags. That's forever what i'll associate it with.

Another example. I've found a running gear place I love. Small business making great products. Loved them. Then Ahmed Arbery died while "jogging," and this stupid ass running store couldn't stop going on about how woke they were, how everyone deserved to be able to run without fear of death, how white man bad. I still love their stove, but having that shoved in my face has forever turned me off from them.

Slightly different, but there are several parallels. In the Tracksmith case, it's a company becoming a disappointment by shoving ideals that I don't agree with down my throat. In the case of OP, it's a contingency of disappointments in humanity associating themselves and becoming the prime focal point - what is now associated with the activity.
