Having a computer in your car that you can't control yourself, can spy on you, track you and in some cases even be used to take control of other sub-systems is fucking stupid. Its even more stupid when the company that is supposed to "support" said computer basically never fixes anything, security or otherwise and even if they did they would probably charge you for it.

>Runtime application security firm Oligo earlier this year revealed that its researchers had discovered potentially serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s AirPlay wireless communication protocol and the accompanying SDK, warning that they could allow hackers to remotely take over devices. AirPlay is used by Apple products, but the tech giant has also licensed its use to other vendors, which have implemented it in TVs, audio systems, and streaming devices.

I wish I had a garage. I'd get an even older car than the one I have (2011). I miss manual locks and windows.

I have a pre 2000. I will only give it up when it can't run reliably anymore. Then I will find and buy a "old" similar vehicle. I will be repeating this forever.

In the future, I think I might have a booming business "deleting" the "technology" from cars that people buy. They would probably put me in jail and I don't really even know what/how I would do it right now but I feel like that is the way to go when you are eventually forced to buy a "spy car".

I'm waiting for states to pass laws that force older cars to have a spy box placed in them. I lectured my mom when she got some box from her insurance company to save money. It beeped any time she has to avoid the olds she lives near for acting too aggressively. She was avoiding accidents. Stupid bullshit.
