Maybe it's not such a good idea to let someone else host your PRIVATE CODE if you want it to stay private. With so many easy to use self-hosted solutions I just don't get why you would go with a company like github. Not only that, they used YOUR PRIVATE CODE to train AI/Coding models. How do you feel like that?
