I'd ask:
Why did so many of us recognize Jewish influence for what it was despite the fact we grew up in the same disgusting stew as the rest of these people?
We grew up with admirable parents who didn't just lecture us, but set an example for us. So when they rejected the Rabbi's filth we knew to emulate that same behavior.
