That looks delicious. I like to make my own bacon bits and throw some in sourdough. Then I'll bake it and take bacon grease and brush it on top.
I always apply a thin layer of butter to the bottom and top of the loaf. Seems to make it a little less crunchy but not too soft either. I like that Bacon bits idea.
I like the way you think. Going to send this to my Wife for the next time we bake. Sounds like a winning idea.
