Ok Poaler Bears, I'm under doctor's orders to decrease my salt intake to see if it decreases fluid retention (I'm not fat...it's fluid in my dang ears).

I dont have a sweet tooth, and love spicy food. So what are Poal's reccomendations on tasty dishes that are spicy or at least palatable without applying hefty amounts of salt? I'm a good cook so I can readily whip some dishes up if someone has a couple of suggestions.

Oven cooked sea bass (with olive oil and lemon juice) and parmesan risotto.

Ooh, sounds delicious. I'll try that.

Try cutting carbs, especially bread, etc. I tried the low salt thing, didn't work, but low carb works for me.

Same. Have you read "The Salt Fix"?

Go to Webspoon world channel on jootube. lots of interesting stuff there. Stuff a deboned chicken drumstick with diced sweet/ hot peppers, onion, garlic and cream cheese with your favorite spices, then take it and put it back in the skin of the chicken and bake for 50 minutes in the convection oven.

Sounds like a fantastic idea!

Assunming you are insulin resistant, cutting out carbohydrates and reducing insulin spikes would help greatly. Current research I have encountered suggests that it can interact with the kidneys RAAS system to induce sodium ion retention, inducing fluid retention. Therefore, pushing insulin levels toward baseline levels could alleviate your problem provided you are insulin resistant.

Fortunately I dont have insulin problems. I'm blessed to not have a sweet tooth, so I'll probably be the one person who doesn't end up fat and dying of the 'beetus.

Does carb reduction make a difference in fluid retention for people who have healthy insulin levels?

Probably wouldnt as we are required to eat 4 grams of salt per day as opposed to the government suggestion of 1200 mg.

moar fucking mandates? what next, salt boosters? fuck this noise. I'm just going to season my food with ivermectin and cryptocurrency rather than bend the knee to these forced salt mandates.

Probable Meniere's Disease. It's the bullshit catchall diagnosis for "you have too much fluid in your ears and we have no idea why". The normal starter treatment is to reduce fluid retention (low salt and diuretics) coupled with avoiding vascular constrictors (alcohol, caffeine, niccotine, clown world). Salt reduction is going to be main challege since I know my consumption is excessive, and the others are easy to limit (aside from clown world, but c'est la vie).

Excessive fluid retention in my ears is causing problems. My salt intake is excessive, so that's an easy target to try first.
