Best before it goes to flower. And yes, very healthy. High in vitamin C. I love dandelion salad.
I've never tried it, but it looks really good. I'm going to give it a go when I see them start sprouting.
I keep seeing more and more to do with dandelions but then I wonder with people spraying their yards near me, are they safe to eat?
Probably not, but if the lawn was treated they likely would not have grown in the first place. Good question, I did not think of that.
Maybe I'm over thinking it. Im goung to eat my veggies in the garden without batting an eye not sure why dandelions in my yard I wouod feel differently about.
We did treat our frint lawn last yr bc we didn't want our neighbors irritated with us. They all have beautiful lawns and ours is over run with dandelions and just needs a lot of work. They are all back agian this year.
Idk I'm debating having my girls pick them before my husband mows the yard.
I'm sure they'd be okay to eat.
