3/4 bag of McCain's hash browns (frozen)
3 small cans of cream of chicken soup (regular fat)
Large Brick (700g) of sharp/old fort cheddar
seasoning salt
pepper
sweet onion
green onions
large casserole dish
Cut large brick of cheese into 4 quarters
shred 1/2 to 3/4 of the cheese for mixing
shred 1/4 of the cheese for the topping
dump 1/2 to 3/4 of cheese into large bowl depending on casserole pan size
dump 3/4 of a bag of hash browns into bowl (frozen)
dump 3 cans of cream of chicken soup into a large bowl
season lightly with seasoning salt
mix in bowl till consistent
grease pan with unsalted butter
cut 1/5th of onion and place in buttered pan evenly
transfer mix from bowl to casserole pan (spread evenly and tight)
sprinkle 1/4 of shredded cheese brick on top evenly
pepper top
preheat oven to 350
cook for 45-60 minutes until top is browned slightly or to liking
when finished, sprinkle diced up green onions on top
additionally:
You may wish to add pre-cooked smoked ham chopped into cubes or Spinach adjusting for space in pan with hash browns (things I've done)
