I don't agree with that assessment. If an American travels to a hot war zone and then proceeds to go to a prime target and gets his ass killed then that is pretty much on him. I don't think we could really start a war over that even if we wanted too.

We pay for it in taxes alone. We pay in far greater ways as well. The foreign gov must pay, but that’s some back channel laundering after the fact.
