The reason I've never worried about a ground war with China, is because they have no Navy worth speaking of. They might have the biggest army on earth, but if they can't get it across the Pacific, it can't do what it wants to do, right? But if they simply circumvent the need to cross the Pacific, infiltrate the piss out of the USA, at every level- politics, management for corporations, all the way down to just average Joe (Jing?) civilians- all secretly loyal and trained to be activated if aggression ever breaks out between US and China. And they won't mob up and come out in uniforms, attacking military bases. They'd do things, like, idk, *sabotage railroads* or *set fire to food processing plants* or *blow up factories in what looks like accidents.* And they'd do it at such a rate, that it would really start straining the US economy, on top of everything else. Americans would be like "Man, it's weird that everything is blowing up or burning down all of a sudden." US government would know what's happening- but they couldn't tell the truth. Imagine that, Biden having to admit that we're under constant attack and threat of more attacks from foreign agents infiltrated into our country, sabotaging everything. Imagine the terror and panic this would cause, the distrust of any Asians- it'd be the Red Scare all over again, except this time they're actually blowing our shit up.
