if i remeember they nuremberg trial had rules where any evidence could be used so long as the judge deemed it relevant irregardless of how doctored it was

The term ipso facto - based in fact or something something. All charges were considered ipso facto by the Judges from the outset - there was zero need to substantiate evidence proving the charges - which is why thos eon trial were prevented from being able to present evidence disputing the charges or have their own expert witnesses, only whether the accused was guilty by way of their actions during the time the charges spanned and their plea.
