The sensor will turn off the screen to reduce power consumption and disable the touchscreen digitizer to prevent accidental touches. Smartphones have had these sensors for more than a decade and this picture shows that the sensor is doing its job correctly. Only a retard would use this as proof of something being afoot without doing even the slightest bit of work to determine what their own phone does when being used this way.
