It's weird that on the list of 'high ups' in Sibrel's book, about number five or so is Eugene Kranz.

I've been running into him a lot lately, last time I did a phone video with him. Just friendly chat, no moon stuff, I took my kids to see him after the Apollo movie came out, they even went into his office and got some neat Apollo stuff.

Had I known about the apparent dark side of Kranz I would never have let my young kids visit privately with him (though he's outwardly likeable enough).

I dunno, say it ain't true.

What was his dark side?

Just that he's a member of 'the club,' likely a high ranking mason. I don't mean anything like a pedophile (highly doubt that with all his kids and grandkids). Very nice guy, and his wife.

Last time I saw him, maybe four weeks ago, his wife was with him and she's recovering from some kind of illness. They're headed for their nineties now. I did some work for some of his neighbors who know him well.

Hate to admit it but I'm afraid he's one of the biggest fish in on the scam. But then I know others in mission control who were even featured in the Apollo 13 movie, I know a lot of these people. I know their kids.

It's weird, I did some work for that shuttle commander, Brown, who (allegedly) died. We were just about to go up in one of his vintage planes when the accident happened. We went back to his house after the crash and it was dead silent, empty as could be (looked in the windows).

He only had his mom and dad that I know of, and they lived way up north. I know the guy that's hired the shuttle astronauts, he's retired, was there 40 years, he has some neat stories. I see him off and on at family events. Nice as can be. I owe him a hamburger. (Or he owes me.) I was leaving a burger place by NASA and he was going in, wanted me to come back and eat with him but I declined. Been feeling bad ever since, cause he's family.

Yeah I know I tell too much personal stuff but I don't care, it's neat to hear stuff like this, I know I like to hear it, people's experiences.

One thing about all these guys, they are very personable and very likeable, all of them, and you would never guess they were in on a scam, which I have to admit, I believe they were. They're what you'd picture a charismatic fighter pilot to be.
