Breeders and pet shops will be required to implant a microchip in dogs and cats before they are sold. The aim of the new regulation is to prevent owners from easily abandoning their pets, help owners reunite with lost pets and reduce the number of stray animals put down.

Sound logic, but is it only to get people comfortable with chip implantation?

Yes, in fact it's old news. Which is what makes the "Humans Next?" in the title not just unnecessary but more than a little idiotic. It's clearly only there to stir controversy where none exists.

An article about chipping pets -- which has been a 100% accepted thing for years -- being used as evidence that humans are next is moronic. Like OP.
