Did the kings that ordered the pyramids of Giza to be built believe they would last long beyond their names? I'm sure of it.
Considering they didn't build them nor do they claim they did... Assuming the topic is the great pyramids. Those built in recorded history are shit in comparison to the much older ones.
And yes, you greatly trivialize the effort involved in the oldest pyramids. Which are falling apart in a fraction of the time the older pyramids have stood.
Even the Greek and Roman structures you can clearly see the ancient advanced technology and the shitty modern additions created by the Greeks and Romans. Who built atop these ancient structures.
they look good and are an easy (relatively) thing to build with technology that is hand-powered.
Pyramid of giza? Easy to make with hand-powered technology?
Every single attempt at recreating all or parts of it with hand-powered tools, burins and hammers, has failed miserably. That's one of the many problems with mainstream egyptology, they claim stuffs to explain how what's in front on them has been built, and yet they fail to deliver, they fail to reproduce the process in order to prove their claims https://pic8.co/sh/LRDm2T.jpeg
Even with modern tools it's pretty fucking hard, look at "just this" to begin with https://pic8.co/sh/9Mvqdg.jpeg
It's a perfect symmetry...
