Obviously corrupt imbeciles are being promoted all over the place. In fact, all over the planet. I used to think that this is due to a general degradation of IQ, which inevitably comes with each generation of idiots, bringing about an even dumber next generation. But what if the system is designed to crash? To create chaos and then make order out of chaos? To make a system which the dumb fucks will perceive as... "righteous"?

The incompetence has always been a smokescreen. Government has been associated with incompetence for so long that no one expects better of them. If they do decide to jettison national government it will be replaced with fully privatized corporate governance. See Prospera in Honduras. That's a test run. They own the housing, make the laws, etc. Whoever doesn't submit will have their access privileges revoked. Return to serfdom.
