A sacrifice to the eater. An argument could be made that plants are a sacrifice.

I would have to agree, plants were offered as sacrifice to gods so how is eating it any different?

You're correct, grain offerings were a thing.

The reason they were a thing is because the sacrifice was literally a sacrifice for someone to offer to a diety. They were literally giving up their food.
