Start of season 2 they did the joke about old white man says which was riffing on a popular twitter account. I think the original account led to a TV show with Shatner that bombed. Twitter was definitely a thing back then. All the major news-sites already had those little twitter links on them by that point. Twitter was definitely shilled for in the MSM
